I'm glad that students with disabilities who attend Walnut Creek are in regular classrooms right from the start. I wonder if the others would have wanted Melody on the team if they were more used to having her around. How do you think that the story would be different.
She would be having more people around her. Maybe she would be in a regular classroom insead of being in a class of disabilite children.
ReplyDeleteThat was a book its sad how she has disabilites but she is a great peron she is super smart.plus she makes the team for the trip to Wasington.i thought that was a great book because she got to talk and express her feelings. it was like a movie in my head i could tell what was happening the whole time.plus it had a happy ending!
ReplyDeleteYes it would be very diffrent because they might know her and become friends with Melody. Or no more about her disability so they could help her with things or make her not feel left out.
ReplyDeleteI think the book will be very diffrent because if peole knew her she could have more friends so she won`t be left out or feel lonely. It will also make her happy!
ReplyDeleteI think that her classmates would respect her for who she was and be her friend, sort of like how everyone in 6th grade is kind to Tristan and trys to be his friend.I think that the story would be much happer if she started in a normal classroom.
ReplyDeleteIf they had known her from the beginning, I think that would have affected how they had treated her during and before the competition. It is easier to be on a sports team and have fun when I know all of the people. I also think that if they would have known she was really smart earlier, like in lower grades, they would really want her on their team in the competition so they would have a better chance of winning. And everyone likes to win!
ReplyDeleteYes I am thankful for a disabilities classroom. Had she started in a regular classroom I think with the Medilearner she would of been thought of as a wiz. I think she also should of asked for help in math. If that would of happened I think that Rose would of called because she would of been good at all quiz subjects.
ReplyDeleteout of my mind is a great book. I thaught that it was very sad that people under estimated her. they came up with a great idea they made a computer for her to speak because she could not speak and she had so much to say. and noone never new that she hated the disabilities classroom and noone new that she already new the alphabet until they came up with a tslking machine that would alow her to communicate with other kids and teachers i thaught it was a great book.
ReplyDeleteif melody had started in a regular classroom, i think things would have been different. people would probably have wanted her on the team more if they had known her their whole life.
ReplyDeletei believe this would make melody a more relatable character. as she would have more friends and maybe just one enemy instead of the world.
ReplyDeleteI think that they would've called Melody and invited her to breakfast, even if she would slow them down. They may have even talked to her more, once she did start talking people would talk to her but not as much as they would talk to anyone else. Molly and Claire probably wouldn't have been so mean to her, because they would have known her more.I don't get why kids are so mean to special needs kids, they're just like us, they know math and science, but they just can't say it, I think every special needs kid who can't talk should have a medi talker, it would make life so much easier, for them and for us.
